Heat pollution and Earthquakes – Why the world needs to have broader conversations about climate change

According to NASA website, “Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s surface observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere.”

NASA’s definition of global warming is misleading for a very specific reason. It is placing the primary responsibility of global warming on fossil fuel burning. While it is true that releasing trapped carbon in fossils back into the atmosphere has led to the greenhouse effect and increase in Earth’s surface temperature, global warming has to be understood from a much larger perspective.

From the smallest microorganisms to the blue whales, every living being generates and emits heat from its body. We consume food, break it down for providing us energy and release that energy as heat into our surroundings when we do our activities. In order to understand Earth’s surface temperature, we have to first select areas in all geographic locations, measure heat generated by every organism except humans in those areas and extrapolate the results to find out the total heat generated by all animals except humans over a specific period of time. There is a good reason to exclude humans from this exercise.

Except the animals that live in packs, all other animals try to keep distance from their own kind and from other animals except during breeding time. Being territorial about food is one reason and the other reason is, as population density increases, heat released from their bodies become amplified. Understanding body heat is easy. In a room cooled by A/c, the room will be moderately cold when there are more number of people and as more people leave the room the remaining people will start feeling colder. Also, greater population density results in faster spreading of diseases. Predator-prey relationships and diseases are two major ways how nature enforces population control on animals. So measuring the population of each animal and the amount of heat released from the body of each animal would give a good account of how much heat animals contribute towards Earth’s surface temperature. This is another reason why population control in nature is important because population control will ensure heat released from the body of animals will not significantly add to Earth’s surface temperature.

We have not only broken all laws of nature we have done lot more things that are mind boggling and incomprehensible. Earth is 70% water and 30% land of which 10-15% land is habitable. 8 billion and growing human population is jostling to live in this small percentage of land. Our perpetually increasing population density is amplifying all our body heat and to add to this, any disease could manifest into an epidemic and pandemic in no time. But it is not just our body heat that is contributing to Earth’s surface temperature. Every single creation of ours, from the smallest light bulbs to mobile phones to the largest aircrafts and rockets are burning fuel and generating heat. We are not just polluting Earth with heat generated from carbon emission, we are also creating heat from sound, light, breeding different types of cattle and poultry for our dietary needs and many more types of pollution and every type of pollution is generating copious amounts of heat all of which adds to Earth’s surface temperature. Simply put, the most significant and largest pollutant we are creating is heat.

To add to all of this, we are cutting down trees and destroying forests. Trees absorb harmful rays from the Sun and when they are gone, those harmful rays also end up heating Earth. So there are two ways in which Earth is getting heated now. Earth is getting bombarded by more harmful rays from the Sun and by the increase in Earth’s surface temperature and we are contributing significantly in both.

When we speak about climate change we have to take all of these into account. In our rich history, there is a great example of climate change if our population decreased suddenly and consequently, forest grows back. The Spanish Inquisition in the Americas in the 16th century eradicated 90% of the local population due to wars, famines and epidemics and forests grew back in the millions of hectares of human settlement areas. Research points to a global temperature drop in the 17th century which adversely affected Europe resulting in famine and epidemics and this is being correlated with what had happened in the Americas a century earlier.

All conversations about climate change largely revolve around carbon emission and the need for carbon neutrality. This is not just a very narrow way of looking at global warming but also a misleading one as well. Our exploding population and everything we are creating are all adding to global warming. Population control is no longer the solution. If human species has to survive, human depopulation is the only way. Most of us will have to die for some of us to survive. Otherwise, receding forests and increasing human population will increase Earth’s temperature to a point where Earth will become uninhabitable. But, long before it goes that bad, something else will happen. There is a natural disaster that will happen if Earth gets heated up like it is getting now – Earthquakes. Oceans when heated up will cause underwater earthquakes resulting in tsunami. There are ancient tribes that believe the world has been destroyed completely 3 times in the past and the 4th one is imminent which will be caused by cataclysmic earthquakes.

We need broader conversations about climate change caused by all the heat created by us and the consequences leading to global awareness programs with the clear message that Earth is already overloaded with us and can take no more of us. Without this, all conversations are useless.

It is insensible and needless to live in fear, even if it is of a disease

“Two fall outs of COVID-19 pandemic have become clear:
1) Creating medicines and vaccines for every known disease and consuming Vitamin tablets to boost immunity has rendered our immune system idle and useless. In antivirus systems, definitions of new viruses have to be constantly updated for the antivirus to keep our computers safe. Our immune system has to dissect new microorganisms, understand their genetic structure & then create antibodies to fight them. We cannot stay two steps ahead & have medicines & vaccines for every disease going to affect us in the future. Only a robust immune system can save us.
2) The fear of death among people is mind boggling. So much fear has been created over the virus that people are not even stepping out on to their house’s porch. Death is our constant companion from the time we were zygotes in our mother’s womb. Diseases are one way nature controls the population of all living beings in it’s ecosystem. Death is inevitable yet people fear it so much with the false pride of not admitting it. Incomprehensible.”

This innocuous post I put on my social media timeline drew the ire of a friend who messaged me saying “we have intelligence so it’s stupid not to use it and depend only on immune system”. Nothing wrong with what she said.  Why can’t we protect ourselves with medicines and vaccines?

COVID-19 is a mild virus with 99% survival chances as per reports. Then why the fear? Because it’s a new variant of Coronavirus. There are no medicines or vaccines for it yet. So we have no option but to fall back on our immune system. But it also doesn’t know this new microorganism. So it gets confused and puts its entire focus on eliminating the virus. This becomes problematic and even fatal for people already suffering from other life threatening diseases as the immune system gets overwhelmed.

My friend missed a very important point though. Survival is instinctive and has got nothing to do with intelligence. Every animal from the time it is born tries to survive as long as it can. What my friend cannot seem to accept is the fact that death is inevitable. Someone who could live for another 10 years may succumb now because of COVID-19. That’s how it has always been in nature. The weaker ones have to die. Nature needs only the strong ones to survive. Why such a rule?

Scientists and researchers believe life on Earth formed by a process called panspermia wherein asteroids carrying microorganisms from space travel, collide with planets and fall on them. If and when conditions become favorable for life to thrive, the microorganisms from the asteroid rocks will start replicating. Let’s take this situation and assume that no microorganisms die. They keep evolving into more complex organisms through billions of years but none of them die. What would have had happened to Earth? Overpopulated, overheated, resources exhausted & nature’s ecosystem could have had collapsed. This is exactly the situation now. We started making medicines to protect and cure us from diseases so our mortality rate dropped. Earth’s resources are rapidly receding and nature’s ecosystem is heading towards collapse.

This is why death is so important. In the Earth’s timeline, 99.99% of the living beings that existed have supposedly become extinct. Why is nature killing living beings in its ecosystem? Death is essentially the backbone of evolution.  Death is never the end of life. Best example of it is wildfire. When fire has done enough destruction then comes torrents of rain and kick starts life again. Nature is learning and evolving from the cycles of birth and death of living beings in it’s ecosystem. Universe in itself is supposed to have a lifespan at the end of which it self destructs and a new Universe is born and takes the older one’s place.

Take a look at the complexity and diversity of nature and then look up into the cosmos. How many planets have we discovered like ours till now? There could be planets harboring life elsewhere in the Universe but none in the near vicinity of ours. This is what makes our planet special. Nature has survived for billions of years because of its ability of self conservation by following the rule of ‘the sum is always greater than the individual parts’. This is why no animal has the ability to destroy nature for its own survival. This is the best proof of advanced human intelligence not being a product of natural evolution.

No matter how intelligent we become we cannot cheat death or prolong our life on Earth.  But there is something we can do. There is a process called terraforming (reference: Movie – The Man of Steel) by which we can create an environment that suits us and can possibly control. Mars seems to have all the qualities to harbor life so there is supposedly a plan underway to terraform Mars. It is somewhat like creating a planned city. This could be the way forward for our existence. What we are engaged in now is a fight to the death with nature for which there can be only one outcome. Our annihilation. Something that has been in existence for a few thousand years can never defeat something that has been here for billions of years. There is no version of the story in which we will ever come out on top of nature.

Death is the natural end of a life cycle so it is nothing to be feared. We all know death is inevitable but we still fear and fight it because we have found our purpose of existence in houses, cars and in the social life of status, wealth and fame. There is also the needless fear of the unknown of what lies on the other side of death. There are more laws of nature and forces of the Universe acting upon us than we know. I believe celebrating life and death equally is the best way to live a balanced life.

Emerging facts about us

What I am going to write in this blog are things that may seem to many to be on the border of insanity. I am expecting very less people to read this, lesser people to comprehend it completely and even fewer people to contemplate over it.  I can guarantee one thing though. For the ones who comprehend at least some part of it and ponder over it, this is going to be a life defining experience. It’s going to quite a long blog, so please bear with me and stay with me.

I grew up listening to mythological stories and rules for living our lives from ancient Indian texts without understanding any of it and making fun of them. The primary reason was ignorance about our planet, about the Universe and about life itself. Those were the times when life outside our planet was never even considered a possibility. When the magnum opus epics Ramayana and Mahabharata were made into TV serials, mere bows and arrows were portrayed as weapons of mass destruction and we used to laugh it off. It was simply impossible to even imagine that there was any species so advanced as to use nuclear weapons so long back. All of that started to change when the existence of extraterrestrial life (ET) began to trickle into the mainstream media. A majority of the people will not be able to wrap their minds around this fact even now, but it is a reality that different alien races have been visiting our planet for thousands of years and have played a very significant role in shaping the destiny of our planet and of humanity. It is only now that everything that has been mentioned in ancient Indian texts has started to make sense.

There is a lot of scientific work that is happening in the western world and especially in the US since World War II. But it so happens that many of the concepts the scientists are working on have already been mentioned in ancient Indian texts. I haven’t read most of these texts but I have a basic understanding of their essence. They have been written in such a way that they cannot be understood directly and recreated or put to use. They have to be interpreted and interpretation needs a frame of reference. We did not have one till now, but advances in science and technology and the acceptance that ET is a reality has made it possible to understand them. I have been thinking for a while to interpret some of them so that the world knows about the knowledge already available to us and we do not have to reinvent the wheel.

It is at this juncture that I stumbled upon a website a couple of days back. From the time the crashed UFO was discovered in New Mexico, commonly known as the Roswell Incident, the US has achieved significant advances in science and technology in quite a short period of time and it would not difficult to comprehend that there is a helping hand behind the curtain, the hand of ET. It is said that there is something called Black Ops in which human and ET intelligence and working together. This is supposedly so secretive in nature that no government agencies have complete knowledge of their activities and it runs like an autonomous body and is funded by top business houses. This information is slowly becoming available to everyone. What I found on the website was a series of 5 interviews done by a news reporter with someone who was working for the Black Ops and had defected. The website link is here  and the interviews are downloadable as a single PDF file from the website. I have to issue a warning here that the information given in the documents is totally mind altering and too much information for our mind to process in it’s present state. I have been going through waves of nausea for the past two days.

Although these interviews were done way back in 1997, its contents were released much later and the last interview was released only this year. This was as per the instructions of the interviewee whose name is Dr. Jamission Neruda. Dr. Neruda has since then disappeared from the radar of the interviewer, Sarah. What I am going to write about is his last interview. If anyone is wondering at this point why I am blindly believing someone, it is simply because many of the facts that Dr. Neruda has revealed in his interviews resonates perfectly with what has been mentioned in ancient Indian texts and also gives a clear understanding to why our world is in such chaos. This is going to sound like a cooked up story or something coming from a hallucinated mind, but there is a powerful message for humanity that is going to follow. I am simply spreading the knowledge with the purpose of enlightening more people.

By working with ET, Dr. Neruda says he gained tremendous knowledge about the history of our planet and of humanity. Eons ago, when the Earth’s core had not solidified completely, the planet was filled with water. It was at this time that Atlanteans used to inhabit the planet. The Atlanteans did not have a physical body and they had life span of thousands of years. During this time, Anunnaki, a highly advanced interdimensional race of beings arrived on Earth to mine for gold. Gold was a very important part of their civilization and existence. But over a period of thousands of years, the Earth’s core started solidifying and the Anunnaki, who were ethereal beings without a physical body were no longer able to mine for gold. Then they created physical beings like robots and coaxed the Atlanteans to enter these physical beings so that they could continue the mining. Dr. Neruda says this was the first version of human beings. These first versions of human beings had no reproductive system and all looked the same. Then Anunnaki developed the second version of human beings that is us, with DNA and reproductive system. They also built an extensive system of birth, death and afterlife so that the Atlantean beings could be recycled in the form of reincarnation. Anunnaki had a fallout with Atlanteans and so when the Anunnaki left Earth eventually, they decided to keep the Atlanteans trapped in human form. So Dr. Neruda claims we are basically Atlanteans in human form and their descendants. Sounds insane? Incredulous? Have no doubt, all of these technologies have been out there from time immemorial, its just that we are not good enough and ready to know about them.

Why I got interested in all of this is because as I mentioned before, I could relate many of the things Dr. Neruda has said to what I know from ancient Indian texts. According to the Vedas, the timeline of humanity is divided broadly into 4 Yugas or Ages. In the first age, human beings had life span of thousands of years which matches perfectly with how Dr. Neruda describes the Atlanteans. Dr. Naruda says “First Source is the Creator of life—the manifest reality of all existence. The Creator lives within life as the infinite spark that connects all life as equals in oneness. It is not here to be humanized. It cannot be humanized, or for that matter, reduced to any other life form or thing.” This must exactly be the reason why Lord Brahma, the creator of the Universe as per Indian texts is not worshiped in any temple in India and there are no idols of Him anywhere. Anu of the Anunnaki resonates with Manu, the creator of human beings and all species in the Universe in Indian texts. Dr. Naruda says “the universe in which we exist is really a hologram projection that was programmed inside our unconscious mind and we’re really inside this hologram, wearing a human uniform that was outfitted to perceive only this hologram. The real Universe is sound. Everything is sound and resonance of sound.” Absolutely true when it comes to Om, the one sound that represents the Universe and permeates throughout the Universe. Dr. Naruda has said about our planet being filled with water initially, how the Annunaki were unable to mine gold from our planet thousands of years after they first came because the earth’s core had solidified and how Anu left our planet because it was no longer possible for Anu to continue staying on our planet in his physical form. This can probably explain the 9 different incarnations of Lord Vishnu. How the incarnations started off as water animals and became human forms later may be a reflection of the different conditions of our planet and the Universe through time. These are just a few of the many parallels I could draw between Dr. Naruda’s words and the Indian texts. Then there is the creation of humans as mentioned in the Book of Genesis and the descriptions of Adam and Eve which match exactly with the Anunnaki’s creation of human beings with reproductive system. Our Anunnaki connection and their need for gold establishes why gold is precious to us, because it was precious to them.

Above all of this, there is something infinitely more powerful and dangerous lurking within us.The DNA code in our body. Dr. Naruda says it was programmed by the Anunnaki. It would be completely ridiculous that with so much knowledge of technology we have now, if we still believe we evolved from monkeys as per Darwin’s theory. If we look at our body, it is impossible to imagine that such precise and synchronised body functions with such advanced intelligence could have simply evolved. We were created and that is why we see such dexterity in our own physical being. When the Anunnaki left the Earth, presumably because as per Dr. Naruda, the Earth had solidified so much that it was impossible for Anunnaki to stay any longer, they saw the opportunity to enslave humanity forever. Dr. Naruda says that our DNA has been encoded in such a way that humanity will never be able to unite for a cause. We have been programmed to create divides in our own society. Our society is getting more and more fragmented our society more as time goes by. But why? Dr. Naruda says Anu intends to return to our planet when the earth’s conditions are much more favourable to his ethereal form and he intends to portray himself as humanity’s saviour with the hidden agenda to enslave us forever.

It is obvious what Dr. Neruda means by separation among us. We are not part of the food chain and we do not conform to rules of the ecosystem. All species on the planet procreate for their survival and to maintain their dominance on the planet. We have crossed that threshold long back and still we procreate. Why? Because we have that undying need to dominate and once domination over other species was complete, we started creating differences among ourselves in terms of religion, caste, race and colour and started dominating one over the other. Now new differences based on money, such as upper middle class, middle class, affluent class and below poverty line have been created. The lines of separation are only increasing with time. There is one very powerful example in the present world that can illustrate how this deception has been coded into our DNA and is working so perfectly. In India, after years of massive corruption, a political activist, Arvind Kejriwal stood up against the bureaucracy and the government and all political parties conspired against him. I was never able to comprehend the fact that when a man is standing up and trying to bring honesty and transparency into the country’s governance, even large portions of the educated people in the country are against him, ridiculing him and trying to find fault in him. It only means people want to live with corruption because they are also corrupt. All this time, I was thinking it was the problem with the people’s mindset, but now it has become clear. The problem is in our design itself.

I hear many people talk about spiritual awakening, but I believe it is time for us to do some serious introspection. Even if we can discount everything that I have written above, just look at how we are leading our lives. We have made our lives into a mad race, a race after fortune and fame. Everybody calculates the cost of doing something, but no one gives any significance to the physical effort on our body and the stress caused on our mind. This is why hospitals and pharmaceutical companies are thriving, because we make ourselves sitting ducks for them. Our never ending need for one-upmanship over one another has destroyed our morality. It is one thing to have friendly banters but when money is attached to it, it becomes deadly. We know stories of how the crowd used to cheer wildly and support the gladiators during their duels 3000 years back. We are in the 21st century and see how the crowd supports opposing teams fanatically in football matches and indulge in hooliganism. Fundamentally, nothing has changed about us. Why? Because we were created this way.

Only 3% of our DNA has been decoded and understood till now. Knowledge about the rest 97% still remains elusive. I do not believe most of it can be unlocked in medical labs. It is probably how we position ourselves in the world, the actions we choose to take and how we choose to react to situations that will trigger these DNA functionalities. It is one thing to evolve into beings that are promiscuous and are constantly seeking one- upmanship, fortune and fame. It is completely another thing to be programmed into becoming such beings. Our intent should not be to see spiritual awakening as a war against Anu and his devious schemes. We should see this as a long drawn battle with ourselves, to break free from all the constraints and divides we have created among and within ourselves. It is time we started looking at ourselves without the separation in terms of money, fame, religion, caste, creed, colour, politics and every other factor that divides us. Let us not make any of these factors influence the way we compete with each other. This would be the best way to improve our lives. Dr. Neruda says the Creator collects all positive and negative experiences from the Universe and adds to His library of knowledge so that He can constantly improve the Universe. Let’s send out some very powerful positive messages to Him.

Humanity’s wake up call

Yesterday night, I was having a casual chat with an MBA schoolmate when the conversation veered off into uncharted waters. She said she has a strong feeling that the world is going through or is on the verge of going through a phase of spiritual awakening. I have been going through one from time to time in my life but it has been very pronounced in the last 4 years, from the time I left my job to pursue MBA and my granny passed away. I have been reading a lot about spiritual awakening and how it can save humanity from further moral descent, but no one had told this to me in person. Question is, is spiritual awakening happening?

Every year, my MBA Alma mater throws challenges to teams from business schools all over the world to devise innovative solutions in order to address humanity’s most pressing needs around the world. People are getting opportunities to work on some amazing projects through this initiative. When I was doing my MBA, the challenge given was to solve the problems with the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative and make it a reality. As I watched teams come up with business strategies, I realized one thing. The objective is to solve humanity’s problems only. It seemed to me that humanity is being treated as a separate entity from everything else on our planet. Access to clean drinking water for humanity was one of the challenges in a previous year. Isn’t it the right of all living beings on our planet to have access to clean drinking water? The way I see it, as our awareness about humanity is increasing, the lesser we are thinking of the factors and entities that are harboring and nurturing us on this planet. Do we consider ourselves as part of the ecosystem of our planet? I do not really think so. We have been living on the lofty assumption that being the dominant species on the planet gives us the privilege to do as we please.

From the time of Renaissance, we have been tirelessly working on improving ourselves technologically and technology has indeed revolutionized our lives. Out of this came the need for strategies and innovations to manage both technology and business. What we need to look at is, for all this time, we have been focused completely on ourselves, we have been consistently overlooking our planet, destroying nature’s resources and ridiculously taking for granted that nature can tolerate our assault on her forever. It is high time we started remembering that we are born from nature and we will go back into nature some day. It is also high time to make sure everything we do including our business and technological advances are aligned with nature. How? Consider two recent developments. In Spain, algae are being made to create crude oil by artificially speeding up the process of creation of fossil fuel which usually takes millions of years. This is true innovation. And where have they set up their factories? Near cement factories, which emit high levels of carbon dioxide, the most essential component for fossil fuel creation along with sunlight. This is a genuine strategy. This example proves that innovation and strategy creation is possible by aligning ourselves with nature. Another one, a car that runs on salt water. The objective of both these innovations is to use available resources on our planet and cause zero or minimum negative impact on nature. We need to differentiate clearly between maximum utilization and depletion of available resources. Lack of this awareness is why we have used up all of our fossil fuel. Apple’s HealthKit app is another example. Though it is made exclusively for us, it allows us to understand the functioning of our body better and for me, which is one step taken in getting closer to nature.

So what is true spiritual awakening? Knowing ourselves better is just the starting point. Every living being on our planet has a reason or purpose for its existence and its own contribution for maintaining the balance of our ecosystem. Consider the story of Hanuman, the monkey king with extraordinary strength and abilities in the mythological Indian saga The Ramayana. It is said that Hanuman is the reincarnation of Lord Shiva and was born to help Lord Rama, the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu to defeat and annihilate the evil demons on earth. Hanuman is worshiped for many reasons, for being blessed to have an eternal life on earth, for his mighty strength, his wisdom and his unwavering devotion towards his master which is being attributed to his perpetual bachelorhood. What we have sadly ignored is, it is said that he knew his purpose in life from a very early age. That may have been the single reason why he could stay a bachelor because knowing the single most important purpose of his life took precedence over everything else that came and went from his life. Maybe that was the reason why it is said he was given eternal life and made the guardian of our planet, because of his unwavering focus towards the task entrusted to him. I have been taking photographs of birds, butterflies and beetles around my home for a while now. I was thinking that these birds, butterflies and beetles will still be around in 5, 10 or 50 years from now. But are they going to be the same birds, butterflies and beetles that I am seeing today? Definitely not. They will all die and get replaced by similar ones. But from nature’s perspective, each organism has its own reason for its existence. When nature identifies each living being uniquely, why do we identify only fellow human beings uniquely? We mourn so deeply when one of our own dies, but do we realize that nature is mourning when we are mercilessly and rampantly destroying everything in nature for our needs? Is it enough to cut one tree and replace it by planting another tree? Maybe yes for us, but it has to be a definite no for nature. The tree that was cut had an objective for its existence and we cannot replace it by planting another tree. Can we kill a human child and give another child as replacement to the killed child’s mother? This attitude of taking everything for granted has strained our relationship with nature and everything in it, including our own fellow beings.

For a long time, we have been procreating, like the rest of the animal world, to maintain our population and become the dominant species on the planet. That objective is long over. What have we been doing from then? Differentiating ourselves based on religion, race, caste, gender and skin color and fighting for domination among us. What is the road ahead? One, understand the true objectives of our existence on our planet. Two, expand our procreation to other planets. We have unfortunately opted to take the second option. That is why so much money, resources and time are being utilized for Mars and deep space exploration. I have never believed that we became so intelligent by chance or by evolution. When I look at the mechanisms of the human body, I know it is perfection beyond our capabilities of creation. The fact that living beings from other planets have been visiting us for thousands of years is gaining ground rapidly. I also got to know that once US military fired artillery at approaching alien ships but had no effect on them. If they are so advanced than us, why don’t they simply conquer and rule us? Why are they only monitoring and studying us? It may not be simply because conquering us will create more bloodshed. It may be because we were created by far more superior beings, we were given this planet as our home and we were delegated the task of administering and maintaining our home. All we may need is an awakening, to see ourselves in the true light. But instead of understanding our home better, we are planning to journey to other planets to colonize them. But there is a catch. How will we create the environment for our survival on another planet if we do not know our own planet properly? What will we find on another planet if we cannot find a passenger plane that simply vanished without a trace on our planet?

Is there a true spiritual awakening in the air? Not yet. Will it ever happen? I sincerely hope so.

Leaving our imprints in the sands of time

This is something I had read on Facebook a while back and every time I think about it, my mind gets shaken. If there was a planet somewhere in the universe that was behind time measured in number of years on Earth by 65 million years and if there were living beings on the planet who could observe Earth, they would be seeing dinosaurs and the calamitous asteroid strike that destroyed them. This can be so true because light from supernova explosions that occured deep in the Universe millions and even billions of Earth years back is reaching us only now. So if we consider a planet that is a few thousand Earth years ahead of us, then the planet’s inhabitants might be seeing our future. What this essentially means is, if we are able to traverse through the Universe, we would be able to take snapshots of our planet throughout it’s life time. Sounds crazy? Yes it does. Now what should we understand from this?

First of all, we should stop thinking in terms of time. Time is simply a measurement based on a spacial body’s rotations and revolutions and it varies from one body to another. In the dark void of the Universe, time is immeasurable and immaterial. What this translates to us is, there is no good or bad time to do anything. Since we do not know if the life force or spirit within us is confined to our planet only, we should also stop counting our age. By measuring time and everything in terms of time, we have created perpetual walls around our minds from where what comes forth is only constricted thoughts. If we learn to manage our time properly and know how to do the things in our lives effectively, we do not need to live by the needle of our watches or the clocks of our mobile phones.

There is a whole lot of hope riding on our desire to become space travellers and loads of money and effort is being spent to leave our foot prints in our solar system and beyond. But to what end? When we calculate time in millions and billions of years, it says two things. One, we are allowing the monstrosity of distance to stifle us from thinking and seeking knowledge beyond the realm of what we know now and two, the technical knowledge we have now is simply not good enough for space travel because it is doing nothing to reduce our perception of distance and time.

I happened to read recently about the ancient Egyptian belief that three things essentially constitute a human being, body, life force and a personality which is unique and created in the life time. When we die, the life force goes away but the personality remains. No wonder that in Hindu tradition, when rituals are done yearly for the deceased in the families, the crows who answer the beckoning to eat the offerings of the rituals are considered as reincarnations of the dead because no matter what life form the dead may take, the personality will remain the same and that’s why the crows respond to the calls. Mummification of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs and high priests and their eventful burials with large quantities of food and wealth along with servants was supposed to be help them in their after life. But ancient aliens theorists are claiming that the bodies were preserved that way because Egyptians believed their Gods would come back some day and they have the power to give life force to the dead, so the buried ones could be brought back to life with their same personalities.

We are all essentially trying to leave behind a legacy of our own in the world, which is why we are always striving to achieve more. But nothing stays forever in the sands of time. In our world, everything is open to interpretations and the legacy we leave behind today may not be interpreted in the same way 50 years later. The birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who spearheaded India’s freedom struggle, is now remembered more as a “dry day”, when shops selling alcohol are all closed down.
The value of everything in the world diminshes with the passage of time. If we can see the past, present and future of our planet from other far away planets in the Universe, how do we define what is true and what is false and what would we believe in? What happened, what is happening or what might happen? So essentially, everything fades into nothing. What would remain is the personality we create for ourselves. An endearing personality would live on through the thoughts of people who knew us and if we choose to believe in rebirths, a well developed personality will help us no matter what life forms we take. There are no other signatures that will stand the test of time.
